  • Christopher Day 2025

Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Berlin is one of the biggest LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations I’ve ever seen.

This CSD 2025, we walked through the whole damn parade. As usual. Also drank a ton of beer during the festival. These are the days when I’m reminded of that whole “freedom” thing Berlin is known for. In a lot of other places, people would call this anarchy, but it’s not. Rules and basic civility still come first. Even when the street turns into a public bathroom.

But the parade is supposed to have another meaning. It’s not just an excuse for all of us to drink beer and dance. Well, we all know the message is to foster tolerance and accept our differences. I wonder why these global campaigns are only directed to sexual preferences.

What’s always caught my attention about this event is diversity you get to witness. Although not particular to the Berlin parade. There’s the same feeling when I joined the parade in Mexico.

I think the most extreme thing for me, even though it might seem like no big deal, is seeing people naked. I don’t know if it’s the simplicity of being naked that hits me or that they’ve got some object on their genitals to, you know, keep things interesting. If they succeeded in their little voyeurism experiment with me, they should be proud.

Anyway, this is our western world, right?
