Any day is a good excuse to take pictures of Berlin’s streets. Especially when it’s cold, everything is buried in snow, and staying home just means sinking into pointless gloom. The poet Rilke, who spent harsh winters in Berlin, once wrote in a letter: “Winter, what a cruel season for those who have no warmth inside themselves.” But that’s exactly the point. Berlin’s freezing months force you to go out and find your own heat.
